At a cool 11 °C, the NIO ES8 with the 100 kWh battery used 221 Wh/km at 90 km/h, one of the thirstiest results in the tests, and covered 397 km. That was still slightly less than the Audi e-tron 55, even though the NIO is the bigger car. It proved comfortable, spacious and fairly quiet, and the seat massage and the sound system stood out, the latter earning eight out of ten as the best yet heard in a Chinese car. The only real criticism was that it does not charge as fast as the e-tron.
